Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every journey arranged by Danu Tours & Travels, a destination management company registered in Sri Lanka. By confirming a booking you accept them on behalf of everybody travelling in your party.

Prices quoted are indicative until a booking is confirmed in writing. Rates depend on season, availability, party size and currency movement, and can change until deposits are received and suppliers are secured.

A booking is confirmed only when we have issued a written confirmation and the deposit has cleared.

A deposit is payable to confirm a booking, with the balance due before arrival. Exact deposit levels and payment dates are set out in your written quotation and may be higher for peak dates, chartered flights or exclusive-use properties.

Bank charges are borne by the sender.

Changes requested before departure will be accommodated wherever suppliers allow, and any resulting difference in cost is passed on at face value.

Cancellation charges are graduated by how close to departure the cancellation is made, and are set out in full in your written quotation. Some properties and internal flights carry non-refundable terms from the moment they are confirmed.

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travelling with us. It must cover medical expenses, repatriation, cancellation and curtailment, and any activities you intend to take part in. We will ask for the policy number before departure.

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and the correct entry authorisation for Sri Lanka, and for meeting any health requirements. We are happy to advise, but the obligation rests with the traveller.

We select suppliers with care and take responsibility for arranging your journey as described in your final itinerary.

We cannot accept liability for events outside our reasonable control, including weather, road and rail conditions, wildlife sightings, industrial action, civil disruption, or changes imposed by national park and heritage authorities. Where such events force a change we will find the best available alternative.

Wildlife is wild. We do not guarantee sightings, and we will not permit guides to harass animals or breach park regulations in pursuit of one.

Some activities carry inherent risk. You take part on the basis that you have declared any relevant medical condition and are insured for it.

If something is wrong, tell your coordinator immediately so that it can be put right while you are still in the country. Complaints raised after you have travelled are much harder to resolve.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
