A full day in the capital
A single day, door to door from your hotel. It suits a first day while the jet lag wears off, a last day before an evening flight, or a stopover between other trips.
The route is flexible. Eight hours is enough for five or six stops with time to eat and shop rather than a sprint between monuments.

Colombo
Picked up from your hotel for roughly eight hours in the city: Galle Face Green and its street food, the National Museum, Gangaramaya Temple and Seema Malaka, Independence Square, the Old Parliament and the Fort quarter, and the BMICH gardens. Time built in for lunch and shopping, then drop-off back at your hotel.
